Who We Are

In 2016, the Richard T. Fields Bar Association Foundation was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation was founded to assist its sister organization, the Richard T. Fields Bar Association in charitable fundraising.

The Foundation is named after Justice Richard T. Fields who presently represents the California 4th District Court of Appeal.

Our Mission

As a charitable organization, the Foundation’s mission is to support the academic success of students of color. Specifically, the goal is to raise funds for scholarships to award to deserving graduating seniors (accepted to a four- year university) and law school students. Each year, at the Association’s Annual Gala, the Foundation awards thousands of dollars to students who have demonstrated a commitment to community service in underrepresented communities.

Each year, the Foundation continues to award more scholarships than the year before due to generous donations of our sponsors.  We are grateful to our sponsors for their contributions to the future of these students.  We welcome the opportunity to partner with other non-profit organizations, corporations, individuals and law firms.
